A Brief History

2019

Since 2019, The Blaq Agenda has taken shape in a variety of forms including a limited podcast series, dynamic workshops, educational lectures, and intimate gatherings throughout Chicago, San Francisco, and London. Created with the intention to reclaim space and engage in critical conversations that amplify the nuanced experiences of individuals that live at the intersection of Blackness and Queer, TBA and its community of disrupters and dreamers believe in a world that is rooted in inclusion, intersectionality, and impact.

Founded by Felton Kizer, Mycall Akeem Riley, and Elijah McKinnon, the collective expanded with the newest member Karla Huffman in 2021. Over the years, The Blaq Agenda has built intentional global partnerships with hospitality groups such as Ace Hotel, Soho House, and The Hoxton in addition to partnering with grassroots initiatives and nonprofit organizations like Rebuild Foundation, Manny’s San Francisco, and AIDS Foundation Chicago.
